Tennessee Titans wide receiver Corey Davis had a very solid second season in the NFL this past year, hauling in 64 receptions for 891 yards and four touchdowns in an offense that wasn't all that pass-heavy.

So, just what should we expect from Davis in his third year in the league, and should Fantasy Football owners seek him out in drafts?

Well, here's what you need to know about Davis.

First of all, he will almost surely be the Titans' No. 1 receiver going into 2019. Yes, Tennessee signed Adam Humphries, and while he is productive, he is mainly a slot receiver.

Davis will certainly be Marcus Mariota's top target in the passing game, which means that the 24-year-old should have a good number of opportunities to put up numbers.

Also, Davis was the fifth overall pick of the 2017 NFL Draft for a reason. The kid has talent and posted three straight monster years at Western Michigan before entering the pros.

Yes, Davis had an underwhelming rookie campaign, but let's be honest: Tennessee's offense stunk it up as a whole in 2017.

That brings us to the main question: is Mariota and the Titans' offense good enough to recommend fantasy owners to take a chance on using a high draft pick on Davis heading into next season?

Corey Davis, Titans

It completely depends on the play of Mariota.

Tennessee actually has a very strong offensive line, with Pro Football Focus ranking it ninth in the NFL after this past season. That means that Mariota should have plenty of time to throw the football, and it also means that another big year is likely in store for running back Derrick Henry.

But does it mean that Mariota will actually produce?

Now going into his fifth season, Mariota has dealt with some nagging injury issues over the past couple of years, and when he has been healthy, he has not been very good, as he has thrown for 24 touchdowns and 23 interceptions combined in 2017 and 2018.

That is not a very good ratio, and it also demonstrates just how good Davis was in 2018 to post those numbers while playing with such a shaky quarterback.

There is hope for Mariota, though, as his first two seasons in the NFL were impressive, particularly his second year when he totaled 26 touchdowns and just nine picks. So, perhaps it's just a matter of Mariota staying healthy and regaining his confidence.

But can we bank on that happening? No.

Corey Davis

That's why Davis, for as talented as he is, is not a very good option for Fantasy Football owners who are thinking of potentially making him their No. 1 receiver. There is obviously the possibility that Mariota plays better and Davis busts out as a result, but it's just too risky of a play.

If you want to draft Davis as your No. 2 wide out, you're playing it much safer and might even end up hitting it big, but expecting him to post ace receiver numbers in 2019 is probably expecting a bit too much.

Davis may end up recording similar numbers to 2018, so think of something like 70 catches for 900 yards and five touchdowns. The Titans' offense just isn't strong enough overall to advise using that high of a pick on Davis.
