The fantasy football community is in mourning following the news of Mike Tagliere's passing. The popular fantasy football personality succumbed to COVID-19 on Saturday, his wife, Tabbie, revealed via Twitter.

I am heartbroken to tell everyone that @MikeTagliereNFLpassed away peacefully last night. We are so thankful for your support and prayers over these past weeks. Tags appreciated all of you more than you could know. He wrote this 6 years ago and I think it’s just perfect . . .

Mike Tagliere was known as a fantasy football analyst and writer for the site, FantasyPros, which understandably reacted to the news with grief.

Mike Tagliere battled COVID-19 for a considerable time. He revealed back in early August that he contracted the virus and was dealing with severe symptoms despite being fully vaccinated.

I tested positive for Covid late last week and have been dealing with severe symptoms (yes, I’m vaccinated). The quarantine timeline would’ve allowed me to go on Saturday, but it’s way too close for comfort with so many people attending.

Fantasy football has become one of the biggest sports-related attractions in the US, with millions of players joining leagues every year. It is without a doubt one of the reasons why the NFL continues to be unrivaled in terms of popularity, and Mike Tagliere certainly was among those who helped greatly in making fantasy football become what it is today.

Here are some of the reactions to Tagliere's death from around the fantasy football community.

Mike Tagliere started to write for FantasyPros in 2017, but before that, he worked with PFF Fantasy.

FantasyPros has launched a GoFundMe page for Tagliere's family, which has already taken in over $230,000 in donations, as of this writing.
