Fantasy football is one of the most popular brands of fantasy games sports fans partake in throughout the year. There are multiple different types of leagues, along with websites that provide valuable information to improve your skill set. None of that would be possible without Matthew Berry, who has ultimately decided to walk away from ESPN after 15 years.
Berry took to social media to announce his departure from the worldwide leader in sports. He offered a lengthy letter, thanking ESPN for the opportunity to put fantasy football on the map. Although he's moving on, Matthew Berry is clearly thankful for his time and the people he's met along the way.
So… some personal news: This is my last week at ESPN. pic.twitter.com/cDcVgN2BSc

After the shocking announcement, ESPN left a statement of their own. They revealed that “Matthew Berry expressed a desire to explore new opportunities beyond” the company. So with that, Berry leaves to pursue new fantasy football endeavors while his former company claims they'll be generating some new “programming, personalities, and games.” If that's the case, the fantasy football world is about to make a shift.

And with that, the guru himself is making a career change. Luckily for him, he's essentially the father of fantasy football, as he paved the way for it to become as popular as it is today. Matthew Berry leaves one more final thank you, as Monday will be his final day at ESPN.
I’m really excited about the future but there will plenty of time to talk about that before the season. For now, I just want to take some time to reflect and celebrate an incredible 15 years. Thanks for the support. I love you all.

Shout out to Berry for carving out a career in fantasy football and congratulations are in order as well. He's clearly looking to dive deeper into the fantasy sports world, but that is yet to be determined. Keep an eye on Matthew Berry and ESPN, as some major changes are on the horizon.
