Minnesota Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins has been inconsistent most of his career and right now he seems to be going through one of his hot patches, much to the delight of Fantasy Football players. After throwing for 306 yards and two touchdowns a couple of weeks ago against the New York Giants, he followed it up throwing for 333 yards and four touchdowns against the Philadelphia Eagles.

The Vikings go on the road on Sunday to face the Detroit Lions, and Cousins is going to have another phenomenal game.

Vikings coach Mike Zimmer has made it clear since taking over for the Vikings that he wants a run-first team and at the beginning of the year, that was really emphasized with the play calls.

It was run on first and second down and throw on third down. The offense became very predictable and teams could just load the box. Offensive coordinator Kevin Stefanski knew something needed to be changed, and he has done that.

He is now using the pass to set up the run. There are a lot more passing attempts on first and second down, which is making defenses have to respect the pass, thus giving the running backs big holes. It has also balanced out the offense and it should continue to roll against the Lions.

The Lions defense hasn't been good and has been giving up tons of yards through the air and on the ground. So far this season, they are giving up 413.8 yards per game, with 280 of them coming through the air. The 280 yards per game is 28th in the league.

The Vikings have been relying heavily on Adam Thielen and Stefon Diggs, but they have both been so good it's hard for teams to take both of them away. Against the Eagles, Thielen caught six passes for 57 yards and a touchdown, while Diggs had seven catches for 167 yards and three touchdowns. It might be Thielen who has the big week this week, but both guys will be heavily involved.

Cousins has also looked more confident the last couple of weeks and he is making the passes that he wasn't early in the season. The first couple of weeks, Cousins was waiting for a guy to be open to throw it. In the last couple of games, he has trusted himself and his receivers to fit the ball into tight windows.

Last season, Cousins threw for 253 yards and three touchdowns at Ford Field, and there is no reason that he can't do it again.

Fantasy Football players should be expecting another big performance from Kirk Cousins this week.
