The New England Patriots are off to a blistering 5-0 start, but Sony Michel hasn't done his fantasy football owners any favors this season. Michel is coming off of his best game of the season in Week 5 though.

The second-year running back rushed for 91 yards on 16 carries and a touchdown on Sunday against the Washington Redskins. Along with his numbers on the ground, Michel showed his receiving ability with three receptions for 32 yards.

After having his best game of the season, what is Michel's fantasy football outlook in Week 6 against the New York Giants? Let's just say that the Giants defense is in some major trouble on Thursday night.

In the first four weeks of the season, Michel was unable to be effective in the rushing attack. The former Bulldog combined for just 171 yards on 62 attempts (2.76 yards per attempt) and two touchdowns in the first month of the season.

Of course, Michel's most productive game before Week 5 came against the Miami Dolphins in Week 2. Besides that game, the Patriots running back faced three stout run defenses in the New York Jets, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Buffalo Bills.

Luckily for him, he will get a chance to face a Giants run defense that has been gashed by multiple teams this season. New York has only allowed three rushing touchdowns to running backs this season. But at the same time, they've given up the seventh-most rushing yards in the NFL.

Despite the injuries along the offensive line, New England has continued to find ways to get decent gains when they need to. This week, the offensive line and Michel will square off against one of the weakest run defenses that they'll face this season.

In addition, the Patriots get to play in Foxborough after having two consecutive games on the road. There's no doubt that the crowd will be cheering loud as Tom Brady hands the ball off to Michel on Thursday.

There is a decent chance that Rex Burkhead and James White vulture touches from Michel. Even so, the young running back is going to receive a heavy workload; with him being the workhorse running back in the backfield.

On top of all of that, the game versus the Giants is expected to feature rain throughout the entire 60 minutes. Therefore, Michel is favored to get the ball even more as teams tend to pound the rock when the weather is questionable.

For the owners who stuck with Michel after the first few grueling weeks, this week should reward you for your patience.
