We know that Tom Brady is the greatest quarterback of all-time, and when the chips are down, he is still the guy you most want under center if you need to win a big game. But just because Brady may be the best big-game quarterback in the league does not mean he is the best when it comes to Fantasy Football.

As a matter of fact, he almost definitely isn't the best.

That brings up a very fair question after 2018: who is a better target in your Fantasy draft? Brady or Aaron Rodgers?

We all know the story with Brady. He had a rather questionable second half of the season, and many were questioning if he was finally done being an elite signal-caller at the age of 41. Then, he went on to lead the New England Patriots to another Super Bowl.

Rodgers' story was a bit different.

Aaron Rodgers, Packers

The 35-year-old actually had a solid statistical season, throwing for 4,442 yards, 25 touchdowns, and a couple of interceptions while completing 62.3 percent of his passes and posting a passer rating of 97.6.

Still, in spite of those numbers, Rodgers was roundly criticized for missing some throws (as evidenced by his rather low completion percentage) and for not doing enough as a leader in the Green Bay Packers' locker room.

Now, the Packers have a new head coach in Matt LaFleur, and while things haven't gone too rosy thus far in the honeymoon stage of Rodgers and LaFleur, you have to think the change from Mike McCarthy will be good for Rodgers.

This is also a reason why Rodgers is a better Fantasy Football option than Brady.

Rodgers is entering 2019 with a pretty big chip on his shoulders, as he has never faced this type of criticism before. He is going to want to prove that he can still lead a team and be a top-flight quarterback, and he certainly has the ability to do so.

Tom Brady, Patriots

Plus, Rodgers has one of the best wide receivers in the game in Davante Adams at his disposal, and while the rest of his receiving corps isn't too great, Adams is good enough to make up the difference.

In the case of Brady, he will be 42 years old at the start of the season, and Julian Edelman is his only reliable pass-catcher right now. We don't know what's in store for rookie N'Keal Harry, and how Demaryius Thomas returns from an Achilles tear is anyone's guess.

Also, Brady will almost surely coast through the regular season much like he did in 2018. It shouldn't take much for the Patriots to win the AFC East, which is probably the worst division in football.

There will likely be times where Brady looks cooked again, only to rise in the playoffs.

Aaron Rodgers, Tom Brady

But in Rodgers' case, it's not that simple. He is playing in an NFC North division that also houses the Chicago Bears and Minnesota Vikings, so he will have to be at the top of his game. So, unlike Brady, Rodgers will not be coasting. Not only does he have a whole lot of critics to silence, but the Packers can't just sleepwalk through the season and expect to win a division crown like the Patriots.

Green Bay is going to have to really push to beat out Chicago and Minnesota, and Rodgers surely understands that.

Given the fact that Rodgers has a better receiving corps overall (let's not forget he also has tight end Jimmy Graham) and more of a reason to post big numbers, he is the better option in Fantasy going into 2019.
