Denver Broncos running back Javonte Williams had a huge day in a Week 13 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. Williams put on a show for his fantasy football managers, totaling 178 scrimmage yards and a touchdown on nearly 30 touches. The Broncos rookie did it without Melvin Gordon in the lineup, who was ruled out with a hip injury. After the recent injury update by Gordon himself, Williams' value ahead of fantasy football Week 14 could be in distress.

Broncos running back Melvin Gordon thinks he'll be able to play in Week 14 against the Detroit Lions? That is definitely not good for Javonte Williams' fantasy football value.

Williams' fantasy football managers were likely hoping that the rookie earned himself a bigger slice of the running back pie while Gordon was out. However, that doesn't seem like a likely occurrence when both are healthy, as Williams has handled 140 carries to Melvin Gordon's 135 this season, a near-even split.

While maddening for fantasy football purposes, it's likely that the Broncos will deploy that same split backfield once again in Week 14 if Gordon is out there with Williams.

Fortunately, this might not be so bad in Week 14 for fantasy football managers with Williams or Gordon. The Lions' defense ranks 28th in the NFL against the run this season.

While Javonte Williams' fantasy value definitely takes a hit if Melvin Gordon is healthy, both backs could still have productive outings for the Broncos in Week 14 thanks to the favorable matchup against the Lions.
