The New England Patriots look nearly unbeatable through the first two weeks of the season. As good as they have been offensively, Sony Michel has yet to post a notable performance in Fantasy Football.

In Week 1, during New England's 33-3 thumping over the Steelers, the second-year running back had just 14 yards on 15 carries. It was nice to see Michel get a decent amount of volume in the offense, but his production was abysmal.

Then, in Week 2, Michel improved his play on the field with 21 carries for 83 yards and a touchdown. Yet again, the volume was there, but he was unable to fully take advantage of his opportunities.

Nevertheless, the Patriots shut out the Miami Dolphins 43-0 to improve to 2-0 on the season. This week, the Patriots will host the New York Jets for another AFC East showdown. What should we expect from Michel against the Jets defense in Week 3?

For you Fantasy Football diehards, don't expect too much from the Patriots running back in Week 3. As bad as the Jets have been, the strong suit of their defense is their front seven.

Over the course of the offseason, New York spent money to bring in C.J. Mosley and they selected Quinnen Williams to become a stalwart on their defensive line. Both Mosley and Williams were inactive in Week 2 and are expected to miss another game this Sunday.

Last week, the Jets were embarrassed on Monday Night Football against the Cleveland Browns. On the bright side, Gregg Williams' defense allowed just 70 yards on 21 carries to Nick Chubb and D'Ernest Johnson.

Now, Michel will attempt to gash the Jets defense on Sunday behind a decimated offensive line. The Patriots have lost Isaiah Wynn and David Andrews to injured reserve while Marcus Cannon is nearing a return.

In 2018, Michel had the best game of his rookie season against New York in Week 12. The Georgia product gained 133 yards on 21 attempts and a touchdown on the ground. It was a phenomenal performance from Michel, but this a different Jets defense this year.

Therefore, expect to see a similar stat line from Michel as he had in Week 2. The Patriots starting running back will likely rush for 88 yards on 20 carries and a touchdown in Week 3. Michel is rarely used as a receiving option so he's definitely a safer option in non-PPR (points per reception) leagues.
