This could be the week that Parris Campbell bursts onto the scene in the NFL. Campbell was drafted in the second round of the 2019 NFL Draft by the Indianapolis Colts. Through his first three games as a pro, Campbell has just five catches for 37 yards and a touchdown.

With the Colts preparing to play the Oakland Raiders, Campbell could be in for an increase in targets. The Raiders defense has allowed big plays to their opponents over the last two weeks. In Week 2, Patrick Mahomes exploded for 443 yards and four touchdowns against the Raiders. There are holes in the secondary.

Could Campbell be a viable Fantasy Football option this week? It is not impossible.

Campbell could take advantage of Colts injuries

You never want to see a player get hurt, especially when he is one of the best talents in the league. T.Y. Hilton suffered a quad injury in Week 3 and was forced to leave the game. He is currently listed as day-to-day, but it is not looking good.

Devin Funchess signed a one-year deal with the Colts and was quickly put on IR with a broken clavicle. That leaves the door wide open for Campbell. He is just 6-foot-0, which means he has to use his speed. Campbell ran a 4.3 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine.

At Ohio State, Campbell had a massive year before entering the draft. He hauled in 90 catches for 1,063 yards and 12 touchdowns. He established himself as one of the best receivers in the country and will look to continue that success in the NFL. The college numbers for Campbell are all we can use as a judgment.

The Colts liked Campbell enough to draft him in the second round. They are hoping that he can make a connection with Jacoby Brissett. In regards to Fantasy Football, Campbell should be on a team, but needs to prove that he is worthy of being a starter. He had three catches for 24 yards against the Atlanta Falcons, which were both highs for the season.

It is never good to get an opportunity because of injury, but that is the reality for Campbell this week. Brissett has to throw the ball to someone and Campbell could be that someone. Definitely have Campbell on your roster, but it is a bit premature to insert him as one of your starting wide receivers.

If you're desperate for a WR3 or a FLEX option this week, you might consider taking a flier on Campbell.
