Far Cry 5 is free to play this weekend. Here's how you can take part:

Join the task force commissioned to arrest the doomsday cult leader Joseph Seed in fictional Hope County, Montana. Far Cry 5 puts you in the shoes of a rookie sheriff deputy, and you will have to work with your team to combat this militaristic cult. You can do so for free on both Ubisoft Connect and Epic Games Store this weekend. Far Cry 5 is free-to-play on both platforms from August 5-9, 2021. Meanwhile, the game's season pass will be on sale for 85% off on the Ubisoft Store, allowing you to continue your journey if ever you don't finish the game during the free weekend.

To play for free, you only need to download the game from these stores during the stated dates. The game will be playable during the duration of the promotion.

Far Cry 5, first released in 2018, has been the latest game in the Far Cry franchise. However, it'll very soon be going to be replaced by Far Cry 6, the long-awaited game starring Giancarlo Esposito as the primary antagonist. This one's coming in just a few months' time, as it's set to release on October 7, 2021, on PS4, PS5, Amazon Luna, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Google Stadia, and PC. Getting to play Far Cry 5 this weekend could get you wanting more. That could make you end up buying Far Cry 5 or save up for Far Cry 6. Whichever is the case, Ubisoft will be glad if you do.
