It's been a long while since we last had our last Fatal Frame release. For almost seven years a follow-up sequel has not been made for the spirit camera franchise. We're still not getting a new title this year, but at the very least, the series is showing some signs of life. Indeed, it's good that Koei Tecmo is looking to bring Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water, the latest game in the series and was first released in 2014, to current and next-gen consoles this year. While this means we're still not getting a new game, this still allows players to experience Fatal Frame on their more modern and updated consoles. Here's when the remastered Fatal Frame release date will be.

With the original version coming out in 2014, the new remaster of Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and the Nintendo Switch will be coming out on October 28, 2021.

In Fatal Frame, players are armed with a Camera Obscura, which they use to capture the spirits haunting the game world by taking pictures of them. The horror comes in as players will have to focus their lens on the ghosts directly as they approach. Defeating the haunting spirits requires a balancing act between evading their attacks and timing your shots. As an added bonus to crossover fans, Ayane of the Dead or Alive series also makes an appearance in a special episode unlocked after completing the game.
