Point Boban Marjanovic throws beautiful no-look pass in transition
Dallas Mavericks center Boban Marjanovic is a large human. In fact, at 7-3, he’s one of the tallest athletes in recent NBA history. Despite this fact, Bobi pulled off a pass that any point guard would be proud of during Friday’s 90-47 victory over Puerto Rico at the 2019 FIBA World Cup.
With just over seven minutes remaining in the third quarter, Nikola Jokic brought down a loose rebound for the Serbian side. Jokic then advanced the ball to Marjanovic, who was already making his way up the floor. Shortly after crossing half court, Marjanovic noticed Stefan Jovic making a cut towards the hoop. Without thinking twice, Boban decided to throw a no-look pass to Stefan, who proceeded to convert on an easy layup from the baseline.

Serbia went on to defeat Puerto Rico by a healthy margin (90-47). Nemanja Bjelica led the Serbs in scoring, racking up 18 points on 6-of-10 shooting from the field (4-of-6 from beyond the arc), six rebounds and three assists in 17 minutes of action. Marjanovic logged 16 minutes, scoring 16 points on 7-of-8 shooting, four rebounds, one flashy assist and one steal.
For his outstanding efforts in Friday’s win over Puerto Rico, Marjanovic was recognized as the TCL Player of the Game.
The Serbian National Team will be back for more FIBA World Cup action on Sunday, as they’re scheduled to face Spain in Group J play. Tip-off for that game is slated for 8:30 a.m. ET.
