Sebastian Vettel will start further down the grid in the Formula 1 US Grand Prix after revealing that Aston Martin will make necessary changes to his car's power unit.

Similar to that of Lewis Hamilton's grid penalty at the Turkish Grand Prix, Vettel's car will have to change certain engine components for reliability reasons.

This will push Vettel at least 10 places down the grid, with reports saying that other parts will also be changed — though neither Aston Martin nor Vettel has revealed which parts will be replaced. The 4-time world champion notes that this weekend will be very difficult but they'll make do with what they have.

Via Formula 1:

“I think we are heading into, let’s say, a difficult weekend,” said Vettel. “We are changing the engine and therefore we will have a penalty. But I think we will see what we can do from where we start. Nevertheless, looking forward I think we can be strong here. How strong, we will see.”

Seb hasn't scored a single point since the Belgian Grand Prix back in August so he'll be looking to regain his footing with engine changes to boost the performance of his car. The German reveals that the US GP is one of his favorite circuits of the modern Formula 1 era and he is excited to see what he can do this weekend further explaining that the track has a good amount of overtaking opportunities.
