Fortnite fans who also love basketball will be getting some great goodies in the Fortntite x NBA: The Crossover. The event will have players choosing one of NBA's thirty teams. Joining the event will have players accumulating points for their chosen team. Then, all of the points will be tallied at the end of the event, with the top pointers among all teams getting great NBA-themed goodies.
Join the Fortnite x NBA Team Battles to get NBA-themed loot
From May 19 to May 23, players can participate in the Fortnite x NBA Team Battles. Up to 15,000 players can join teams as ‘members', and each team can accommodate up to 500,000 ‘fans'. Therefore, you have to join in fast if you want to enter a popular team. Over the first three days of the event, players can accumulate points through completing challenges. As long as you partake in these Challenges, you'll unlock a ‘Spin!' spray and banner. Then, from May 22 to 23, teams will be grouped together. The top teams of each group will be earning NBA-themed cosmetics.
The rewards for the event are as follows:
- Members of the #1 ranked NBA team get 500 V-bucks plus a Fortnite NBA Championship trophy in-game cosmetic back bling
- Fans on the #1 ranked NBA team get a Fortnite NBA Championship trophy in-game cosmetic back bling
- Members on the #2 ranked NBA team get 300 V-bucks
- Members on the #3 ranked NBA team get 100 V-bucks
On May 21, NBA costumes will also debut in Fortnite. All thirty NBA teams will be represented equally, with players only having to purchase a single ‘In The Paint Set' to gain access to the uniforms. In addition to that, there will also be a ‘Shoot and Score' pack that contains a Hookshot emote and a Mini Hoop back bling. This back bling will feature any of the thirty NBA teams that the player would choose.
