Following his exit from Real Madrid earlier this month, Gareth Bale is now on his way to the MLS. The Welshman, who is preparing for the World Cup this fall with Wales, has signed a deal through 2023 with LAFC, the same club that ex-Italy international and Juventus defender Giorgio Chiellini joined a couple of weeks ago.

Via Fabrizio Romano:

Gareth Bale made it very clear he wanted to go to a club where consistent minutes would be available ahead of Qatar. Not only will he likely start for LAFC, but the fact he's coming to the US will attract even more fans.

The 32-year-old won a boatload of silverware at Madrid, including five Champions League trophies and three La Liga titles. Although he fell out of favor at the Bernabeu across the last couple of seasons, Bale scored 106 goals and tallied 67 assists in 258 appearances for the Spanish giants during his nine-year spell after joining from Tottenham in 2013.

Gareth Bale is just the latest high-profile name to take his talents to the MLS. Lorenzo Insigne finally arrived in Toronto on Friday after finishing up his final campaign with Napoli in Serie A. The Euro 2020 winner is set to be paid $15 million per season at TFC, a record-breaking deal.

Bale is certainly joining a quality side in LAFC. They're sitting top of the Western Conference with 30 points from 15 matches. He and Chiellini will be available once the Secondary Transfer Window opens up on July 7th, paving the way for their potential debut in El Trafico on July 8th against the LA Galaxy.
