Italy Goalkeeper Salvatore Sirigu has officially terminated his contract with Italian club Torino by mutual agreement and will join Serie A club Genoa on a free transfer per Sky Sports' Fabrizio Romano.

The Former PSG shot-stopper had been in a fallout with Torino in these past months as they made Vanja Milinkovic-Savic their first choice keeper. The Turin team inked Milinkovic-Savic on a long-term deal and urged Sirigu to find a new club as soon as possible. Sirigu has been at Torino since 2017 when he arrived from Paris Saint-Germain.

Salvatore Sirigu was the Azzurri's second choice keeper during their recent triumph in the Euros. He made a brief appearance against Wales. Sirigu was also praised by his teammates for being a key guy in the dressing room, particularly being a motivator for them. Italy's team captain, Giorgio Chiellini told football Italia that the reserve keeper made them cry.

Today, he made us cry. He showed us a video of our relatives before the game and made us cry.

Right Back Alessandro Florenzi said Sirigu's motivational tools were unique and had helped guide them to the European trophy.

Sirigu has been one of the key players in the dressing room. Before the game, he gave each one of us a note written by him, with his thoughts about us. Every note was different.
