There is a lot of new, refreshing content available in Genshin Impact’s version 2.3, but for people who like to optimize characters, there are two Genshin Impact version 2.3 new weapons that are instant eye-catchers for the so-called theorycrafters. The Cinnabar Spindle appears in the first half of the 2.3, along with Albedo’s Rerun, while the Redhorn Stonethresher appears in the second half of 2.3, along with Itto’s Banner.

Cinnabar Spindle (Sword) lv90 – 454 ATK – 69% DEF

Special Passive (Refinement 5) – Spotless Heart – Elemental Skill DMG is increased by 80% of DEF. The effect will be triggered no more than once every 1.5s and will be cleared 0.1s after the Elemental Skill deals DMG.

Albedo mains, rejoice, for this weapon is breathtaking on our favorite alchemist. This is practically Albedo’s very own “Staff of Homa”, because of how much it improves his main source of damage. The weapon provides a godly amount of Defense, which Albedo scales off of. The passive at max refinement adds an 80% DEF multiplier on his Transient Blossoms, which practically adds 3-4 levels to his Elemental Skill–simply phenomenal. Combined with the new artifact set, Hust of Opulent Dreams, Albedo is set to be one of the best off-field DPS in the game for sure.

This weapon is a reward from the Shadows Amidst Snowstorms event, which also includes a full refinement for the weapon.

Redhorn Stonethresher (Claymore) lv90 – 542 ATK – 88.2% Crit DMG

Special Passive (Refinement 1) – Gokadaiou Otogibanashi – DEF is increased by 28%. Normal and Charged Attack DMG is increased by 40% of DEF.

This weapon is a weird one. It definitely looks like an amazing stat stick like the Staff of Homa, but not quite. The Homa provides Bonus ATK based on the character’s HP, which makes it almost universal for Polearm users. However, the Redhorn doesn’t provide Bonus ATK, but rather, provides additive bonus on attacks based on their DEF. If the character’s kit doesn’t rely on DEF scaling, the damage from this weapon’s passive is somewhat negligible, making it less usable for ATK-scaling characters like Diluc and Eula.

However, this weapon is actually godlike for claymore characters who scale on DEF, namely, Itto, Noelle, and Xinyan. Its Crit DMG substat value is absolutely nuts, peaking at 88.2% Crit DMG.

This Genshin Impact version 2.3 new weapon will appear along with Itto’s banner, in the second half of version 2.3.
