Green Bay Packers tight end Robert Tonyan has put on quite a show with a hat trick in Week 4 against the Atlanta Falcons. It seems San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle could not be happier with the performance.

Kittle took to Twitter to celebrate Tonyan's third touchdown of the day from quarterback Aaron Rodgers:

Matt Schneidman of The Athletic revealed that Kittle and Tonyan share a strong relationship off the field:

Kittle's excitement is certainly understandable. Although he may not be on the same team as Tonyan, he is well aware of the work his good friend has put in to take advantage of an opportunity like this.

Tonyan joined the Packers as an undrafted free agent heading into the 2018 campaign and had largely struggled to find his footing trying to etch out an integral role for himself in the offense. Although the receiving corps for Rodgers may be shorthanded without Davante Adams and Allen Lazard, this has allowed a new weapon to emerge in the passing game.

While Tonyan was working for an increased role on the Packers, Kittle was establishing himself as the NFL's premier tight end. He reset the market for his position with a lucrative pay day this offseason thanks to his efforts as a focal point of the 49ers offense.

Regardless, it is clear that Kittle is relishing in watching one of his friends and fellow competitors reap the benefits of his own hard work. It will be interesting to see if Tonyan is able to maintain his integral role throughout the season.
