Coming out of the highly acclaimed Mater Dei High School in Santa Ana, California in 2018, J.T. Daniels was the ā€œbelle of College Foot-Ballā€ with offers from the Alabama Crimson Tide, USC Trojans, and Notre Dame Fighting Irish, among others. Daniels ended up signing with his home-state Trojans and had a very good beginning to his career before he was injured and replaced by Kedon Slovis, causing Daniels to move on to Georgia. The quarterback carousel at USC kept on spinning after Daniels left, however, and the implications from that have Daniels on the move yet again.

Stay with me here, but when Slovis struggled in 2021, he was replaced by the former five-star recruit, Jaxson Dart. Slovis then transferred to the Pittsburgh Panthers to be their new starter, post-Kenny Pickett. Dart was then set up to be the starter at USCā€¦right? Not so fast, says new head coach Lincoln Riley. The former Oklahoma Sooner head coach is expected to bring super-stud quarterback Caleb Williams with him to LA, leaving Dart looking for a new home.

So why does that affect Daniels? J.T. infamously lost his starting job once again, this time at Georgia during yet another Daniels injury. But, he was expected to battle Stetson Bennett for the starting job in 2022 because he is the superior talent. Although Bennett just led the team to a National Championship, head coach Kirby Smart failed to stand behind him as the 2022 starter when given the chance.

Those comments have made their way to USC, where Dart is now expected to be deciding between Ole Miss, Notre Dame, and Georgia as his next destination. Just the flirtation with Dart has Daniels worried about his chance to be the 2022 starter for the Bulldogs, and now he is looking for a new home where he can play right away.

Normally, a return back home to play for the UCLA Bruins would be in the cards, but that's not the case anymore as UCLA moves on with the Chip Kelly Era. Dorian Thompson-Robinson is set to return for another season with the Bruins and they have four-star 2022 signee Justyn Martin waiting in the wings as well.
