It's not a good day for the Georgia Bulldogs, as Kirby Smart's team suffered its first loss of the season when it got taken down by the Alabama Crimson Tide in the SEC Championship Game, to the tune of a 41-24 score.

It's not just the lopsided manner of Georgia's loss to the Crimson Tide that is certainly frustrating Bulldogs fans right now, but also the possibility of their College Football Playoff chances getting a huge hit. Sure, the loss was against a top-four team, but it's still up to the CFP committee how the final look of the national semifinals will be set up.

Smart, however, doesn't seem to be sweating Georgia's loss too much — or at least that's he's trying to project himself following such a big loss, per David Ubben of The Athletic.

Georgia coach Kirby Smart on the impact of the Alabama loss: “It didn’t do any damage. What it did was reinvigorate our energy.”

Referred to it as a wake-up call.

Georgia entered the SEC title game with the nation's best defense, but that did not matter at all to Bryce Young and Alabama's attack which scored the most points among all teams the Bulldogs have faced this season, thus far.

Now, Georgia will just have to wait and see how the much the loss to Alabama will hurt its CFP stock.
