Milwaukee Bucks' Giannis Antetokounmpo and Philadelphia 76ers Joel Embiid have a few things in common. One, they're currently two of the elite big men in the league who continue to dominate down the block for their respective teams. Antetokounmpo is the reigning Defensive Player of The Year and back-to-back MVP while Embiid is a three-time All-Star and a two-time All-Defensive team member. Another thing these two giants have in common is their huge adoration for another sport – football.
And now, their undying love for the beautiful game is being commemorated by EA Sports as they included both Antetokounmpo and Embiid in this year's FIFA 21. Both stars will be guest characters in the VOLTA Football game mode.
Per Uproxx, both NBA superstars will be appearing as VOLTA Groundbreakers which will make them available on specific dates. If the gamer beats their respective teams, they get the chance to add these NBA All-Stars to their VOLTA squad. Other iconic figures from different sports and fields join Antetokounmpo and Embiid as FIFA 21 VOLTA Groundbreakers namely France football icon Zinedine Zidane, Formula 1 standout Lewis Hamilton, reigning NFL Super Bowl MVP Patrick Mahomes and Grammy-winning artist Dua Lipa.
“I’m the best football player and fan in the NBA, so to be able to say that I’m actually in FIFA just proves that,” Embiid said. “Football has such a huge and loyal following across the globe and to see different elements of major sports leagues come together is something I’m thrilled to be a part of.”
Giannis Antetokounmpo is scheduled to be available in-game on December 5 while Embiid will be appearing on the 26th so you better set your alarms.
