Everyone thought the Phoenix Suns will take a commanding 3-0 lead after winning the first two games in the NBA Finals. Rightfully so because Chris Paul, Devin Booker, Deandre Ayton, and even Mika Bridges have been playing on another level against the Milwaukee Bucks. The thing is, there’s one guy who’s also peaking at the right time – Giannis Antetokounmpo.

With the Bucks finally landing a win, the match-up for this year’s NBA Finals is about to become a slugfest. We take a look below at how impressive the Greek Freak has been in these three games and how his performance has influenced Giannis Antetokounmpo rookie cards in the market to shoot up.

The Reason Why Giannis Antetokounmpo Rookie Cards Are Going Nuclear

It’s been a long road but finally, the Greek Freak has reached the NBA Finals. But before he managed to achieve that feat, Antetokounmpo needed to lead his team against the Miami Heat, Brooklyn Nets, and Atlanta Hawks.

In these matchups against the said teams, Antetokounmpo truly performed like a two-time MVP. The Bucks’ All-Star forward posted insane numbers of 28.2 points, 12.7 rebounds, and 5.2 assists in 15 games. He was also connecting 55% of his 21.1 attempts from the field, making him a force to be reckoned with in the paint.

While he dominated against the Heat and the Nets, it was in the Eastern Conference Finals that he found his match – a hyperextended knee during Game 4 against the Hawks. Due to this development, Antetokounmpo sat out of the series to fully recover. Fortunately, his teammates picked up the slack and eliminated the Hawks to face the Phoenix Suns in the Finals.

Now, this is where things get interesting for Antetokounmpo. In the three games he played against the Suns, the 6’11” forward is averaging 34.3 points on 62% shooting from the field while nabbing 14 rebounds, 4.7 assists, 1.3 steals, and 1.3 blocks.

Anetokounmpo’s all-around game on both ends of the floor was fully realized in Game 3 when the Bucks hosted the Chris Paul-led squad in their home court. In that contest, the five-time All-Star went off by notching 41 points on 60% efficiency from the field and 76% from the free throw line. With this magnificent performance, the Bucks were saved from going down to a 3-0 hole while raising the value of Giannis Antetokounmpo cards in the market.

The State Of Giannis Antetokounmpo Rookie Cards In The Market

Late last month, Antetokounmpo missed some time after an injury he sustained against Atlanta in the Eastern Conference Finals. During that time, his PSA 10 base Prizm rookie card dropped to $1,350 on eBay. A few weeks and a monster Game 3 performance after, that price has gone back up to $1,500.

Along with his Prizm stock, Antetokounmpo’s PSA 10 base Select rookie card is also on an upward trend. From a value of $781 at the start of July, it’s now priced at $1,100. This represents a sharper climb than that of the Greek Freak’s Prizm cards.

The Bucks now live on to fight another day by securing their first victory at home. With Antetokounmpo playing at another level, the Suns will have their hands full in the following games. The same goes too for his cards if he manages to win a game or two for Milwaukee.
