Earlier this offseason, it was announced that Milwaukee Bucks All-Star forward Giannis Antetokounmpo was named to the captain of the Greece national men's basketball team.

However, John Hobbs of talkbasket.net is reporting that Antetokounmpo will not be able to play in the team's upcoming Eurobasket games due to a prior commitment to his tour in China.

The Milwaukee Bucks star will be absent from Greece’s Eurobasket schedule due to an upcoming tour of China, which takes place from August 15-20.

This will force him to miss Greece's exhibition matchup against England in London. He had already missed the four-team tournament in Patras last week due to a minor knee injury but was able to play in the team's game against Montenegro on Friday night.

Antetokounmpo has become the centerpiece of the Greece National team especially after coming off a breakout year that saw him earn his first NBA All-Star Game selection and an All-NBA Second Team nod.

The 22-year-old averaged career highs across the board with 22.9 points, 8.8 rebounds, 5.4 assists, 1.6 steals, and 1.9 blocks per game. He also became only the fifth player in league history to lead his team in each of those five categories while being the first to place in the top 20 in each of those respective categories in a single season.
