The New York Giants have been without the services of star wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. for the last two games due to a quadriceps injury.

This has created a cloud of uncertainty for his availability for the remainder of the season as he has been unable to practice through the injury. With that in mind head coach Pat Shurmur has voiced that he is “hopeful” that Beckham Jr. will be able to return to the field for Week 16 action against the Indianapolis Colts, according to Dan Dugan of The Athletic.

This has been a fluid situation that has seen Beckham Jr. struggle to work through the injury over the last couple of weeks. He has shed some light on his health status just a few days ago, voicing concern about it entirely by stating that it is something that he hasn't dealt with before in his career.

His absence has created a huge hole in the passing game as he's the team's top receiving target and biggest asset in that regard. The Giants were able to get by without him against the Washington Redskins, but those limitations were evident in the 17-0 shutout loss to the Tennessee Titans this past Sunday. They simply couldn't move the ball down the field with any efficiency against the Titans' stout defense that held them to just 3-of-16 on third downs and forced them to commit a pair of turnovers.

New York will continue to monitor the situation closely over the next few days as it should give a clearer picture of where he is at physically at this point in time. When healthy, he has proven to be a game-changing talent as he has posted 77 catches for 1,056 receiving yards and six touchdowns this season. This has seen him notch more than 1,000 receiving yards for the fourth time in his career in his first years.
