The New York Giants and Pat Shurmur have had to answer endless questions pertaining to the team's decision to name Daniel Jones the starting quarterback. In light of this, Shurmur canceled his weekly WFAN radio segment.

After beginning the season with an 0-2 record with Eli Manning under center, the Giants seem to be trying to find a spark on offense. Therefore, while Manning heads to the bench, New York's first-round pick will be given the responsibility of leading the offense.

When the Giants selected Jones with the sixth overall pick in this year's draft, there was a shared feeling of disgust among fans in New York. At the time Jones was drafted, Ohio State product Dwayne Haskins was still on the board.

Despite the bold decision to select the rookie out of Duke, the Giants seemed confident in his ability to become the eventual successor to Manning. It's tough to imagine that Shurmur envisioned thrusting his first-year quarterback into the offense just three weeks into the season.

Nonetheless, the team is ready to rally around Jones as he makes his first career start in the NFL on Sunday. Following the announcement of Jones starting against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 3, everyone on the Giants has been bombarded with questions about Jones.

At this point, Jones likely just wants to fast forward to Sunday so he can skip past the grueling part of the week—answering the same questions in the media. Shurmur grew tired of speaking to the media (canceling his weekly radio segment) about it so imagine how the rookie signal-caller feels.
