It has been a tumultuous 2017 NFL season to say the least for the New York Giants. Aside from being ravaged by the injuries all year long, the Giants have struggled to keep up with even the lowest-tier of teams. In turn, many have speculated that head coach Ben McAdoo will be shown the door at the season's end.

This was especially evident during their 31-21 loss to a San Francisco 49ers that had still yet to win a game this year heading into the matchup.

According to Tom Rock of Newsday, head coach Ben McAdoo has been most disappointed in his team's inability to finish plays:

“The thing that was disappointing that showed up on film is the desire to finish on a consistent basis,” McAdoo said. “It’s not one player and it’s not on all plays. It’s something that almost looks like at times we’re waiting for someone else to make a play instead of just pulling the trigger and making the play ourselves.”

While it has been hard to pinpoint the Giants struggles this year, it is fair to say they look like a team that has all but given up on the season. Their lack of motivation should come as no surprise considering the unfolding drama within the locker room.

Although the Giants front office has given McAdoo a chance to finish out the year, it does not look as if the team is prepared to do the same. That said, his days in “The Big Apple” are likely numbered.
