The New York Giants could be dipping their toes into the free agency pool this offseason. News broke Monday that cornerback James Bradberry was released, leaving a hole in the Giants' defense. According to Brian Daboll, there is a possibility that New York picks up another veteran to take his place.

Giants beat writer Paul Schwartz tweeted the head coach's two-word response Friday morning.

Unfortunately, Daboll isn't really giving any insight with this blunt response. However, it sounds like the Giants aren't completely shut down to the idea of signing a free agency cornerback.

This would be the best option for New York ahead of the 2022-2023 season. With Bradberry out of the picture, Adoree Jackson is the team's only established NFL cornerback.

However, the Giants did select Cordale Flott in the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft last month. The 6'1″ cornerback had a very successful career during his time at LSU, earning him the 85th overall ranking in his draft class. Now, Flott is one of the top options to take over Bradberry's starting role.

While the Giants figure out how they are structuring their defense this offseason, teams within their division are stepping up their offense. The Philadelphia Eagles will be running a power receiving duo of DeVonta Smith and A.J. Brown next season. And, the Washington Commanders are starting the first year of their rebrand with a new quarterback in Carson Wentz.
