Colt McCoy was forced to step in for Daniel Jones in the New York Giants' win over the Cincinnati Bengals last week, and now the veteran is set to do so again in Week 13 against the Seattle Seahawks. With Jones still recovering from his hamstring injury, McCoy will start for the Giants, per ESPN's Adam Schefter.

The Giants have also promoted Clayton Thorson off the practice squad due to Jones' status.

During last week's contest against the Bengals, Jones came up gimpy after making a throw in the second half of the game. Jones suffered a hamstring injury, making him unable to step into his throws, which led to New York inserting McCoy at quarterback.

Luckily for the Giants, McCoy was able to do enough to defeat the Bengals, giving them the sole lead of the putrid NFC East with a record of 4-7. But this week, McCoy may be asked to do a bit more against a much better team in the Seahawks.

McCoy completed six of his 10 pass attempts for 31 yards against Cincinnati, mostly handing the ball off to running back Wayne Gallman. New York's defense was also able to make some plays to put the offense into better positions.

With McCoy slated to start on Sunday, he'll be making his first start under center since Week 5 of last season with the Washington Football Team. In his last start, he struggled mightily, completing 18 of his 27 passes for only 122 yards and an interception versus the New England Patriots.

Throughout the week, the Giants left the door open for Jones to start if he was able to make enough progress to start. However, with Jones apparently needing more time to get healthier, McCoy will be tasked with facing Russell Wilson and the high-powered Seahawks.
