Daniel Jones did not exactly have the best of campaigns for the New York Giants last season. Nevertheless, the incoming third-year quarterback still has his team's vote of confidence. Both general manager Dave Gettleman and head coach Joe Judge had nothing but praise for Jones, as they confirmed the 23-year-old's QB1 status for 2021.

There has been no shortage of movement in the QB post during the offseason thus far, but as it turns out, the Giants have no intention of looking at other options for the quarterback position:

“We've had Daniel for two years; we've done the evaluation on him and we really believe he's the guy. No reason to go look,” Gettleman said, via team transcript (h/t Grant Gordon of NFL.com). “What we're doing isn't fantasy football, we're not playing, we're not doing that. We've got a conviction on him, he's everything we want, he's got all the physical skills and again I say this all the time, the kid just finished his second year of NFL football. How many of us after two years at our new job were great? No, we all start at point ‘A' and we hopefully get to point ‘Z,' but the one common denominator is it takes time. Everybody has to understand that. We believe in Daniel and that's where it is.”

Clearly, the Giants remain high on Jones. Right now, he remains to be New York's quarterback of the future, and Gettleman's statement above should serve as a massive boost for Jones' confidence entering the new campaign.

Coach Judge echoed his GM's statement. When asked if his stance on Jones being the team's cornerstone quarterback has changed amid the myriad of QB options in the upcoming NFL Draft, Judge remained steadfast in his response:

“No, it hasn't at all. It hasn't at all. Again, we have confidence in Daniel, he's a player that we want to work with going forward with this team,” Judge said. “He's shown us a lot of improvement, there's a lot of things. I can go on and on about how we respect him and like him and how the locker room responds to him, but the simple answer to that is no.”

The Giants will look to have a better campaign this coming season and it's going to be an undeniably tough task ahead for New York. Whatever the case may be, however, Jones remains to be their man.
