New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones, the team's top 2019 draft pick, reportedly had “another solid day” at the team's training camp, completing 7-of-12 of his passes, per ESPN's Jordan Raanan.

Raanan also adds that Jones, 22, has not thrown an interception in camp in 38 passes.

The Giants selected the 6-foot-5 Jones out of Duke University with their sixth overall pick in 2019 NFL, surprising draftniks and other teams. The New York franchise then selected defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence with the 17th overall pick, acquired in the Odell Beckham Jr. trade with the Cleveland Browns.

Jones is trying to leverage his training camp debut to change the minds of skeptics who believed he was reach at No. 6 in the draft. The Duke product is ostensibly long-time Giants QB and two-time Super Bowl champion Eli Manning's successor. Manning, 38, has led the Giants offense since being selected first overall in 2004 but has noticeably declined in the last few years, with fans vehemently calling for their Super Bowl MVP to be replaced. Jones' selection, however, has buoyed that prospect as the young QB will likely back up Manning in the meantime and learn the ropes of the NFL before going under center.

Jones threw for 8,201 yards in three years in college, completing 59.9% of his passes and throwing for 52 touchdowns and 29 interceptions.

The Giants re-signed 31-year-old QB Alex Tanney to a two-year contract in March of this year. The team also has rostered their 2018 draft's fourth-round pick Kyle Lauletta from the University of Richmond. The second-year QB appeared in two games during his rookie season last year.
