Daniel Jones has been the talk of the NFL since the New York Giants decided to select him with the No. 6 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. Many disliked the selection and called it a “reach” that high, especially with Dwayne Haskins still on the board. Others felt that the Giants could have gotten Jones at No. 17.

Now that he is officially a member of the Giants and has received all the criticism, NFL.com has added even more on. On his official prospect profile, they compared him to former Miami Dolphins and current Tennessee Titans quarterback Ryan Tannehill. That comparison will only add fuel to the fire when it comes to criticism.

As most will know, Tannehill ended up being a bust for the Dolphins and the team finally moved on from him this offseason.

New York will simply hope that their scouting team and front office made the right decision. Jones will have to handle the New York media and fan base, which won't be an easy task either.

Last season at Duke, Jones ended up completing 60.5 percent of his pass attempts for 2,674 yards, 22 touchdowns, and nine interceptions. Those numbers don't jump off the stat sheet by any stretch. He is a work in progress, but the talent is there for him to develop.

Eli Manning is still the starter in New York, which will give Jones a chance to learn from the sidelines. Being mentored by Manning isn't a bad look for a rookie quarterback either.

All of that being said, the Giants are on the hot seat when it comes to their decision to draft Jones. If he doesn't pan out, general manager Dave Gettleman will likely be looking for a new job.
