Daniel Jones hasn't played a down yet, and he's already under a ton of pressure. The sixth overall pick in last month's draft has been a lightning rod for criticism because of his draft slot and general situation.

Jones has been crowned as the heir apparent to Eli Manning. Playing in the New York media market, he's going to have to deal with a lot of stuff. The Giants have caught a ton of flak for drafting him so high, and he'll be under massive amounts of pressure to deliver when he finally gets his shot.

Fortunately, Jones is taking it all in stride and handling it quite well. When speaking to the media following a recent OTA practice, he sounded confident and excited.

When asked if he's progressing as he gets more experience under his belt, Jones responded affirmatively:

“I think so, I think I am. That’s the goal, to progress every day. I think I am. I’ve learned a lot and we are installing just about every day. The challenge is to progress every day and I think I have done that,” he said, via the team's official transcript.

When a reporter asked what the biggest difference is between his college and pro routine, Jones said this:

“You don’t have to go to class. I think the time is probably the biggest thing. You can be in the building all day and you can focus on what you need to focus on and the time constraint isn’t as restrictive. It’s just more, everything is a lot more. We are installing more and as a rookie its more, it takes time. It’s all been good and I feel like I’m learning a lot.”

Jones is saying all the right things, and it sounds like he's genuinely enjoying the experience. Anyone can be a media All-Pro, though, and none of it will mean too much until we see him live on the field.
