New York Giants general manager Dave Gettleman will keep his job for the foreseeable future, but knows that he needs to start delivering some results quickly. Many believed that both Gettleman and Pat Shurmur would lose their jobs after another disapointing Giants season, but after the dust settled only Shurmur was handed a pink slip.

Meeting with the media on Tuesday, Gettleman said he deserved to keep his job because of the team's young core starting with Saquon Barkley and Daniel Jones. He also knows for the team to start winning as many games as expected it's going to start with the young core.

“It all depends upon how quickly the puppies come along. We got a lot of young kids. We led the league in snaps by rookies. A big part of it is how quickly they come”, Gettleman said via Kevin Patra of NFL.

Gettleman knows that a key to get those players to take the next step could involve the next head coach and it's something they can't get wrong. He also said he feels the pressure every day and he isn't happy with the way his tenure has started in the Big Apple.

“Oh, absolutely. We're all on notice. We truly are. I feel that pressure every day whether I'm in my first or 15th year,” he said. “It's getting better. This is frustrating for all of us. I'm not happy about this. Ownership is not happy about this. We're all frustrated. But unfortunately it takes time.”

It's good that he feels the pressure because the team is going to make some major strides forward starting next season or he could lose his job.
