Forget about two Super Bowl titles, 51,682 yards and 309 touchdowns stretching over the course of a nice 14-year NFL career. This rivalry is an example of one that rarely showcases people playing nice with each other. Perhaps Eli Manning is the exception to the rule.

While prepping for the New England Patriots and Super Bowl 52 this coming Sunday, Philadelphia Eagles right tackle Lane Johnson provided great credit and much respect towards the New York Giants franchise quarterback on Wednesday, according to Ryan Dunleavy of NJ.com.

“The guy has two Super Bowl rings and the guy is treated like Charlie Brown as far as is he productive every year,” Johnson said at Tuesday's Eagles meeting with media, via NJ.com. “The guy has two Super Bowl rings and I've never seen somebody so disrespected than Eli Manning.”

Remember, Johnson is an offensive lineman, a right tackle. He's responsible for protecting the quarterback—in his case, Carson Wentz and now Nick Foles. He's probably witnessed the Giants porous O-line play up close and personal over the last few seasons and feels Manning's pain.

“You have to do what Peyton does,” Johnson said of the critique that irks him in the Manning debate. “You won two Super Bowls, but what have you done lately? You go watch the talk shows and what they are saying about him during the season.”

And just in case you're not familiar, Charlie Brown is one of those all-time sympathetic figures of American history. Lucy literally pulled the rug from underneath him when she took away the ball on Charlie's lone field goal attempt. And what's worse is Charlie saw it coming beforehand.
