New York Giants great Eli Manning has been retired from the NFL for three years now. Naturally, he is doing his best to stay in shape and be as active as he can be.

Unfortunately for him, his attempt to check his conditioning level backfired when he injured himself. On Twitter, the 41-year-old ex-NFL QB detailed how he tried to do the Giants' conditioning test consisting of running sideline to sideline and back 10 times in 18 seconds.

For what it's worth, Manning almost made it through, albeit at the expense of his hammy.

“So I thought it would be a good idea to try our old conditioning test for the Giants today. 10 half gassers( run sideline to sideline and back) in 18 seconds. I almost made 9 before I pulled my hammy. What was I thinking? Moron!!” the Giants legend hilariously shared on Twitter.

Oh it would have been better had there been a video of the incident. The internet will certainly get a good laugh at the expense of Eli Manning, which for sure he wouldn't mind after sharing his epic fail on Twitter.

But hey, who can blame Eli? He hasn't played competitive football since 2019 and who knows how long has it been since he tried the Giants' conditioning test prior to his latest attempt. In fact, we should give props to him for almost completing it.

Then again, for the sake of his fans and his family who care about him, Eli better be careful.
