Another week, another letdown of a performance from the New York Giants, who dropped to 2-14 after a 23-0 road loss to the Arizona Cardinals, who improve to 7-8 after 16 weeks of football.

Ageless Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald, as always, stole the show for Arizona, as he plucked down nine passes for 119 receiving yards and a touchdown. Larry Legend even had a 21-yard pass completion.

Giants quarterback Eli Manning, meanwhile, played poorly. He went 27-of-45 for 263 passing yards with two interceptions and zero touchdowns. The Giants’ backfield didn’t fare any better, rushing for a pathetic total of 43 yards on 20 attempts. Despite the overall ugliness of their play, somehow there’s still a positive takeaway for the Giants from this game.

That positive is the fact that Manning climbed a notch up on the NFL’s all-time passing yards, overtaking John Elway for the sixth spot.

Per ESPN Stats & Info:

Manning entered the Cardinals game with 51,287 career passing yards and finished the contest with 51,550. Depending on how long Manning will continue playing in the NFL, he could have a shot at breaking into the top five list. Dan Marino currently occupies the fifth spot with 61,361 passing yards. Eli’s older brother, Payton, is the all-time leader with 71,940 passing yards.
