The New York Giants traded away one of their best players earlier this offseason, sending wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. to the Cleveland Browns for a first-round draft pick, a third-rounder, and young safety Jabrill Peppers.

In the wake of the Giants' losing one of their biggest offensive weapons, quarterback Eli Manning says that other guys will need to step up in order to fill the void left by the stud wideout:

“Guys got to step up,” said Manning, according to Ralph Vacchiano of SNY. “… We played the last four games of the season without him and we were able to score points. He was a tremendous player for us. But we’ve still got guys that can help us score a lot of points.”

Beckham sat out the final four games of the 2018 campaign due to a quad injury, but in the 12 games he was on the field, he hauled in 77 receptions for 1,052 yards and six touchdowns.

The 26-year-old, who played his collegiate football at LSU, was originally selected by the Giants in the first round (12th pick overall) of the 2014 NFL Draft.

He immediately stamped his name among the best receivers in the NFL, making the Pro Bowl in each of his first three seasons. He then landed a six-year, $95 million contract extension with New York last August, which made the Giants' decision to trade him one year into his deal all the more perplexing.

The last two seasons, Beckham has appeared in just 16 contests total due to various injuries.
