New York Giants wide receiver is appealing a four-game suspension for violating the league's policy on performance-enhancing drugs, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.

Training camp has not exactly been kind to the Giants' receiving corps.

On Wednesday, New York saw No. 1 wide out Sterling Shepard fracture his thumb and also saw fellow receiver Corey Coleman suffer a torn ACL, knocking him out for all of 2019.

Now, with Tate's news coming across, New York may have to add another receiver or two.

The Giant signed Tate to a four-year, $37.5 million contract earlier this offseason, shortly after trading star receiver Odell Beckham Jr. to the Cleveland Browns.

Tate was expected to be the No. 2 receiver alongside of Shepard, but now, it's looking like New York might not have either of its top two wide outs for the season opener in September.

The 30-year-old split the 2018 campaign between the Detroit Lions and Philadelphia Eagles, playing in 15 games and hauling in 74 receptions for 795 yards and four touchdowns.

Tate, who played his collegiate football at the University of Notre Dame, was originally selected by the Seattle Seahawks in the second round (60th pick overall) of the 2010 NFL Draft.

He spent the first four seasons of his career with the Seahawks, helping the team win a Super Bowl in 2013 while catching 64 passes for 898 yards and five scores.

Tate then went on to sign with the Lions, where he made his first and only Pro Bowl in 2014 after snaring 99 balls for 1,331 yards while reaching the end zone four times.

The Hendersonville, Tn. native has logged three 1,000-yard seasons overall.
