The New York Giants face a tall task in Week 6 against the undefeated New England Patriots. Wide receiver Golden Tate is doing what he can to ensure they are going about their business as usual.

There is no question that the Giants will be underdogs against the Patriots. Tate, however, feels New York is ready for the challenge, via John Fennelly of Giants Wire:

“I don’t think we have a locker room full of fanboys,” Tate told the media on Tuesday. “I think we understand we’re all in the NFL, we’re going out there to do a job. We’ve all played in big games, I think, at some point, and it’s a big one because it’s the next one on our schedule, but I don’t think we need to put too much pressure on ourselves. I think we need to keep our emotions in check — I don’t think we want to get too high, we don’t want to get too low — just live in the moment, enjoy having the opportunity to go play in a very hostile environment against a great team, and go out there and shock the world. It’s as simple as that.

It is encouraging to see Tate try to keep the locker room as level-headed as possible. After all, part of New York's reasoning for signing him was so his experience and veteran leadership would serve as a stabilizing factor for this young team.

Attempting to pull out a win in Foxborough certainly comes with its fair share of challenges. Tate understands full well that overcoming the mystique of going against quarterback Tom Brady and head coach Bill Belichick on their home turf is a tall order.

The Giants and Patriots share quite the history given their historic showdowns in the Super Bowl. Although much has changed since this team served as the bane of Brady and Belichick's demise, it is safe to say that there is some added motivation to come out on top of this matchup.
