Things just keep getting worse for the New York Giants.

Not only did the Giants lose their seventh straight game on Sunday after falling to the Chicago Bears by a score of 19-14, but they lost safety Jabrill Peppers to a back injury to boot.

On Monday, it was revealed that Peppers suffered a transverse process fracture, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

The injury is not a long-term thing, as Rapoport notes that Peppers will likely be out one-to-three weeks, but it's just the latest hit in what has been a season full of them for New York.

Whether it has been injuries to Saquon Barkley, Sterling Shepard or Evan Engram, the Giants have been ravaged by injuries throughout the year, and while Big Blue certainly wasn't going to be contending for a playoff spot either way, the health issues certainly haven't helped.

The Giants acquired Peppers as part of the package they received from the Cleveland Browns in return for wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. back in March.

In 11 games this season, Peppers has logged 76 tackles, an interception, three forced fumbles, five passes defended and a defensive touchdown.

The 24-year-old, who played his collegiate football at the University of Michigan, was originally selected by the Browns in the first round (25th pick overall) of the 2017 NFL Draft.

He played in 13 games during his rookie campaign, registering 57 tackles, a pick and a fumble recovery. The following year, Peppers appeared in every contest, finishing with 79 tackles, a sack, an interception three fumble recoveries and dive passes defended.

New York is just 2-9 on the season.
