Jabrill Peppers is heading back to his home state to play football with the New York Giants and it's something that he is looking forward to. Peppers is going going to an up and coming team to a team that is going through a rebuild, but this means a shorter commute for his family.

Peppers grew up in East Orange, New Jersey and graduated from Paramus Catholic High School in Paramus, New Jersey. It's about a 15-minute drive from Paramus to East Rutherford where the Giants play.

“I was excited,” Peppers told reporters during a conference call via Pro Football Talk. “[I] get a chance to play football and do it in front of the home state. It was definitely an exhilarating feeling.”

Peppers is a former first-round pick and was included in a trade that sent Odell Beckham Jr. back to the Cleveland Browns. Peppers was asked if he was surprised by the trade and he knows that this is just a part of the business.

“It’s a business, so nothing really can surprise you,” Peppers said. “It’s just more of a blessing in disguise, and I feel as though God doesn’t make mistakes. If this is the path he wants me to walk down on, I’m going to embrace it. It was more of an exciting, exhilarating feeling. Just a new road to go down, and I’m excited to go down it.”

The Giants have given a lot of praise to Peppers and for this trade to be a success for the team they need him to have a lot of success.
