The New York Giants and Janoris Jenkins did not exactly end on good terms.

The Giants waived Jenkins back in mid-December after he used a controversial and disparaging word on Twitter, ending what was already a rather rocky relationship, to begin with.

Now, the cornerback is a member of the New Orleans Saints, and he insists that he harbors no ill will toward New York in spite of the way things ended:

“Business is business,” Jenkins said during a Bleacher Report AMA on Tuesday. “In the game of football, you just gotta do what you can do and leave everything else up to the front office. I wish them well, and I had fun there.”

Jenkins initially joined the Giants back in 2016 and experienced a great deal of success with the club in his first season, playing in 15 games and registering 49 tackles, a sack, three interceptions, a forced fumble and 18 passes defended en route to a Pro Bowl appearance.

The following year, injuries (as well as a suspension from then-head coach Ben McAdoo) limited Jenkins to nine games. Jenkins proceeded to appear in every contest in 2018, but it was becoming clear that he had lost a step from his outstanding debut season a couple of years prior.

Jenkins then participated in 13 games this past year before being waived, logging 54 tackles, four picks, and 14 passes defended. He immediately joined the Saints, where he played in a couple of games and posted seven tackles and an interception.

The 31-year-old spent the first four years of his NFL career with the St. Louis Rams before signing with the Giants.
