The New York Giants have been busy tearing apart their defense this week. They’ve already dealt cornerback Eli Apple and defensive tackle Damon Harrison, and with a week to go until the trade deadline, they might not be done just yet. Rumors continue to swirl about cornerback Janoris Jenkins potentially being the next one out the door in New York.

But despite those rumors and the fact that the Giants are seemingly ready to rebuild, Jenkins maintains that he’s more than happy to stay with the team. Although, he is ready to accept whatever decision the team ultimately makes.

“I want to be here. I’m happy I’m here. Whatever decision they make, they make. I’ll go with it. Business is business,” Jenkins said per Dan Benton of Giants Wire. “It ain’t flattering. Business is business, baby. Whatever they decide to do. That’s what they’ll do. I can’t be mad a them. I can’t judge them. Whatever happens, happens. Onto the next step.”

Jenkins still has two years left on a five-year, $62.5 million contract he signed in 2016. He is due $10.5 million in both 2019 and 2020 with cap hits of $14.75 million each season.

If the reports are true, then the Giants will not be short of suitors for Jenkins, with a handful of contenders looking for help at cornerback.

But despite the Giants being one of the worst teams in football and likely to get even worse, Jenkins is more than happy to stick around instead of competing for a Super Bowl elsewhere.
