It's never easy seeing your home crowd exit the rafters after your team is down big on opening night. This was was what New York Giants head coach Joe Judge had to deal with on Sunday as his team fell flat against the visiting Denver Broncos who handed them their first loss of the season, 27-13.

It was the first time since the 2019 season that fans were allowed MetLife Stadium. A whopping 74,000 people were in attendance and, unfortunately, a good chunk of this mammoth East Rutherford crowd decided to call it a night after their home team was down as much as 20 points early in the fourth period. This left the minority of the crowd the Broncos' colors chanting the name of the visiting star QB Teddy Bridgwater amid the utter silence from the Giants' fanbase.

“We've got to earn their respect,” Judge said after the loss (via Paul Schwartz of The NY Post) after the 39-year-old head coach, as well as other Giants players, saw their fans leave the arena early.

After a 6-10 record to end the 2020 NFL season, expectations are quite high on Judge and his squad. With former Offensive ROTY Saquon Barkley returning after a season-ending knee injury last season as well as QB Daniel Jones leading the way, fans are expecting that this season's Giants finally make a much-awaited return to the post-season after a four-year absence.

As it stands, though, it seems that the Giants still need to work on a ton of things to help them get some wins on the board as well as make sure fans stay until the final whistle.
