Kayvon Thibodeaux was one of the most exciting young prospects coming out of college in the 2022 NFL Draft. New York Giants fans were excited to see what he could bring to the team when the they selected him with the 5th overall pick. But fans were forced to hold their breath when he sustained a hip injury early in Giants training camp. But the 21-year old defensive standout recently provided an encouraging update on his injury, per Brooke Cersosimo of NFL.com.

“I'm fully healthy, I'm doing fine,” Thibodeaux said. “I'm back training and I'll be ready to go for training camp.”

It should be noted that players' comments on their injuries are not the official diagnosis. They typically tend to fair on the optimistic side of the spectrum. However, they also know how they feel better than anyone else. So this is an undeniably positive update for the Giants.

Cersosimo later shared a Thibodeaux quote in the NFL.com article in reference to what he believes his biggest challenge will be during his rookie season.

“The biggest challenge (heading into my rookie season) is understanding I can't control everything. I can only control what I can control. Even though I want to do as much as I can, I can only do the task at hand, my job.”

Thibodeaux is aiming to help lead the Giants back to the postseason. He has an opportunity to become one of the best defensive players in the NFL.

Kayvon Thibodeaux has a bright future ahead of him following a highly successful college career at Oregon.
