New York Giants wide receiver Kenny Golladay is feeling a sense of optimism for his team’s offense this season.

The Giants were well among the more sluggish offenses in all the NFL over the 2020 campaign. As the Giants dealt with numerous injuries across the board, they finished the season 31st in points per game (17.5) and 31st in yards per game (299.6).

In his upcoming first season with the Giants, Golladay is not setting a high bar on what he expects to see out of the offensive unit this year. But as the one-time Pro Bowler recently touched upon, he sees promising potential in what the offense can produce after an underwhelming campaign last year.

“I mean, I'm excited,” Golladay said. “When I look in the huddle and see all those guys, it's very exciting. “But people have been in and out of the lineup, so we're going to be a little probably slow to get off.

“But we've got some workers on this team and I feel like if we put the work in, I feel like we can be really special.”

For the moment, it is not yet known whether Golladay will suit up for the Giants in their Week 1 opener against the Denver Broncos. He suffered a minor hamstring injury early in training camp and has since been walking a tightrope on his road to full recovery.

The new Giants wideout recently returned to practice and is now simply working his way to possibly soon receiving the green light for in-game action.

“Hamstrings are tricky,” Golladay said. “You gotta be smart and be patient with ’em. It’s definitely a little bump in the road, but we still have some days left. I gotta get a lot of catches in.”

Golladay certainly has plenty of high expectations for his first season with the Giants.
