Max Kellerman always has his bold takes lined up and ready to be shared with the world and it's clear that New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley prompted a Kellerman hot take.

Barkley was referred to as the best running back in the entire NFL by Kellerman after his big performance against the Washington Redskins.

The rookie running back is an incredible talent. Kellerman may very well be onto something considering Barkley has been absolutely unreal this season, but the best running back in the NFL?

Todd Gurley, Le'Veon Bell, Melvin Gordon, and Ezekiel Elliott have certainly made their cases in recent years, so is Kellerman's bold claim a bit premature?

Barkley plays at an elite level for the position and it's arguable that there hasn't been a running back like Barkley since the great Barry Sanders. That's a fair comparison for a running back who bounces off defenders with ease and runs in open field like a track and field speedster.

Barkley can make any run look easy and catches balls on passing downs on a consistent basis. The Giants rookie has over 600 receiving yards on 74 receptions.

Barkley went second overall in the 2018 NFL Draft and has lived up to every expectation that comes with a top-three pick. Many picks each season do not pan out and it's growing increasingly rare to see a running back go this early in a draft considering how easily players at this position get hurt.

Barkley is cut from a different cloth and Kellerman may not be far off with his bold statement.
