New York Giants starting strong safety Jabrill Peppers is getting his first taste of the historic NFC East rivalries on Sunday. The Dallas Cowboys will host Peppers and the G-Men for the teams Week 1 game of the 2019 regular season.

The Cowboys, regarded as a playoff team by many, aren't going to go down without a fight, and Peppers is ready for that. Knowing that it's a big game with tradition, he's locked in for the game, as he said per Art Stapleton of NorthJersey.com:

“It's a big test, for the first game of the season, and I think we're ready for it. The tradition speaks for itself, and something's gonna come over me that I can't explain. I think it's gonna resemble games I've played in the past, games like Ohio State [at Michigan], or Bergen Catholic [high school — first at Don Bosco, then Paramus Catholic], but I don't know if I can even compare this to that. It's just a different level of focus.”

I'm ready. I don't know what it's going to feel like, I'm trying to keep myself as calm as possible, and when game time comes, I understand the magnitude of this game.”

A former first-round pick (2017) with a Michigan Wolverines pedigree, Peppers is all too used to big games and big expectations. However, this one may be the biggest of his NFL career; it's his first game with the Giants after being traded from the Browns as part of the package to bring Odell Beckham Jr. to Cleveland.
