This offseason, the New York Giants made it a key to improving the linebacker position and even just a few days out from training camp, they aren't done just yet.

The Giants have agreed to deal with linebacker Connor Barwin who has been in the league since 2009 and played last season with the Los Angeles Rams.

Barwin has some experience with one of the Giants coaches, linebackers coach Bill McGovern, whom he worked with back in his days with the Philadelphia Eagles.

Not many have discussed the Giants being a Super Bowl contender, but Barwin could only help things moving forward. Earlier this month, Barwin said he received offers this offseason, but wouldn't sign with someone unless he thought they had a chance to win the big game.

“We’ve had interest from a number of teams all offseason,” Barwin said via Pro Football Talk. “The offers I have, I think I’ll make my decision before camp starts. I’m not going to go somewhere that I don’t think can win a Super Bowl.”

The Giants got better this season there is no question about it. The rest of the NFC also did which is going to make it very hard for the Giants to even make the playoffs this year, much less win the Super Bowl.

The Giants traded for linebacker Alec Ogletree this offseason and with the addition of Barwin, the linebackers should be a strength for the Giants this season. Last year, Barwin finished with five sacks and 34 tackles in 14 games for the Rams.
