The New York Giants came away with a win in Week 3 over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers but Janoris Jenkins didn't have a good outing. Despite his struggles, New York's defensive coordinator has no concerns about Jenkins.

The Buccaneers were a 34-yard field goal from Matt Gay away from beating the Giants on Sunday. But prior to the field-goal attempt, Mike Evans caught a 44-yard pass over Jenkins to get Tampa Bay within striking distance. That wasn't the only time that Evans burned the veteran corner.

Altogether, Evans caught eight passes for 190 yards and three touchdowns with Jenkins on him for the majority of the game. Luckily for the Giants cornerback, his team won and the spotlight was on Daniel Jones' performance—and not his.

However, Jenkins hasn't been the only member of New York's secondary that has had troubles this season. The Giants are currently the 32nd ranked pass defense this season; allowing 332.3 passing yards per game.

The promotion of Jones to being the starting quarterback has provided the Giants with a spark on offense. At the same time, the defense will need to rally behind their new quarterback moving forward.

At 30-years-old and two years remaining on his current contract, there have already been trade rumors surrounding Jenkins since last year. Nevertheless, James Bettcher, New York's defensive coordinator, believes Jenkins will get back on track.

After Jenkins had his hands full with Evans in Week 3, he will likely be tasked with covering Terry McLaurin in Week 4. McLaurin became the first wide receiver in NFL history to catch five passes and a touchdown in his first three games in his career in Week 3.
